Looks like some awesome stopping power in those brakes!
Cool to see the vids travelling at speed in the bimmer; my buddy in the southern ab group says they are really getting some added performance out of those e30's which are now very popular among the hotshoes as the price has declined and parts are cropping up at the wreckers regularly now.
Saw the first of your vids [edit:] and later the second in car session. Great stuff!
. Cheers!
Noticed anything "funny" with the exchange rates and parts prices lately:

Nice job on the brakes and the vinyl wrap looks good. Would also like to get some of the info on your rear set up. I need to upgrade the back. Looks like I am running drum brakes in the back with the big brakes in the front of my car.
They are 12.3" and are sort of a custom one off from Fastbrakes. The pads are the old EBC Yellowstuff race pads.
I am working on a couple of the details for the rear that I had to modify to make them fit and as soon as I do I will post up the information for you guys. Maybe a group buy or something.
The fronts are 13.25" and also from Fastbrakes.
Have not had too much of a chance to test them but they work pretty good so far...I am hoping there will be NO brake fade!

Ya. I wrapped the whole thing in vinyl and painted my front, rear bumpers, side skirts, mirrors and wing in ultra flat black. I am going to cover the roof in metallic gold vinyl next year for a laugh...I have the technology so what the hell.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone...it was a big hit today at Autocross!
I will post more about the setup later but I am running 17x9.5 wheels with 255/40/17 Toyo R888's
I sucked a bit in the initial runs but set the second fastest time in fun runs (full prepared subaru with a $10 000 Penske Suspension was the fastest). Most exciting is my fastest time was a 65.98 and a lotus Elise with a very experienced driver was at 65.66! Hell Ya for the GTIR! The regional invitational is tomorrow so we will see if I can get it together when it counts.

Man, that is ri-goddamn-diculous. Killer set of wheels on it too. "I'm going to F*** your S*** up" is the phrase that came to mind when I first saw this car.
Atta-boy for 2nd on the Fun Run. Keep it up.
Flares are a couple of different universal sets which I will post some further details on after I try to secure a bit of a support deal in case I smash a couple hitting cones!
The wheels are 17x9.5 Rota P45R's 4x100 with a 15MM offset. They are combined with H+R hub-centric spacers with a 20MM in front and 15MM in back. The staggered spacers have helped to dial out understeer and add further grip up front. It is a bit twitchy under brake and a little easier to unbalance but overall there is a dramatic improvement in understeer/oversteer balance.

That is exactly the same tire that my friend is running on his evo 8....How low does your speedo read? hahah
It sure does look great with a properly sized set of rubber. Our puny overall tire height is limiting to say the least.
Speedo is not so accurate anymore...Geared the car up as well. It actually was a benefit at my last auto-cross event as everyone was struggling with rev limiters in 2nd or bogging in 3rd. My car was right in the sweet spot! Still might look into how to change the gearing in future though or consider a short ratio gear set.
The tires also raised my car a little which has helped me get it out of my driveway!
2011 Canadian FIA Autoslalom Street Modified Class National Champion
how is the rubbing on full lock? I've got a 205/50r15 tire on an 8" wide rim with a 0 offset and it rubs the plastic front and back on full lock. You are running a 255 tire, with a huge overall height compared to factory. You must have had to do some...massaging.
You inspired me. 17 x 9 Rota D2's (gold) on the way with 245/40/17 Hankook Ventus Z214's... Now which flares did you use!?!?
NICE!!
The flares are a secret for now (not that big of a deal but I am working on my sponsorship!)
As soon as it is confirmed I will post them up for everyone to appropriate!

If you do it, I'd suggest getting the glass housed ones. Also it's nearly impossible to get the beams aimed low enough without the corner light and headlight mis-aligning. Sorry, I'm not threadjacking, just wanted to say that. Now I'm back to the thread, we want answers on the flares!!! We need to get him in an interrogation room, lol

So an amazing day in the R and getting a bit more used to it. Played a lot with pressures and it is damn fast!!!
Had some great times and wound up in 3rd overall for the day. Would have had FTD but I clipped a cone and the GTR took it! DAMN!
