I figured it would be a good idea to have some maintanence and iformative posts on here. I got these from the UK site. I hope no one there gets upset with me lol.
Switch ignition on but don't start the engine. In the grey plug under the fuse box, connect the two right pins (chk and ign) with a paper clip for example, for 3 seconds (the engine check light will turn off while you are shorting them out). The engine check light will flash a series which will indicate a code -
Long long long long long (pause) Short short short short short - indicates 55 which is no fault.
If it flashes 3 long and 4 short for example it's the Det sensor.
To clear the ECU codes, short the wires out again while it is flashing the code.

I have the components to make a nissan datascan cable. They are at the electrical component level, and have to be soldered to the included PCB board.
I am currently having them done up by a friend, but I don't know if she'll have the kit done before I leave for Australia. The cable will help you data log and check engine notes as posted above and plugs into the same plug as above also.

I simply use a snap on MT-2500 scanner and use the nissan-2 connector. I do have to fool it into thinking its another vehicle, usually I use a standard 2.0l model from the same year, but I am able to read and erase codes and view all data. Very handy.
So many unsuspecting victims... So little time.
do you see in data mode when you go in boost ?? ..
last time I checked whit my MODIS it had no vacuum reading
All data related to turbo is not present because there are no 1992 north american 4 cyl turbo's to match it to. So I can see all other parameters such as o2 voltage, fuel trim, ect, ect. Still very handy though.

1 long and 2 short is the code no: 12 I assume?
Well I had taken out the MAF to clean and also installed a new intake.
She started and idled high and low then cut off and now wouldn't start at all with the MAF on or with the MAF off.
BTW the inter cooler is off as I had to clean inside, it is dry now, so should I just reassemble everything and see if it works now?
*edit* after a read on some other forums I learned that it'll run like shit with out all the piping etc connected.
So I'll connect up everything tomorrow and see if that sorts out the issue.
Not having the intercooler hooked up essentially means you have one gigantic boost leak.
