K-Sport or BC Racing Coilover

Hey guys!

I want to put some coilover on my GTI-R, use for street racing (maybe lapping on track some times),

What are your best choice for my application.

K-SPORT:

- CNS190-KP
- CNS190-GT
- CNS190-RR

BC RACING:

- BC Racing BR Series
- BC Racing DR Series

I'll continu my research, but I'll like to know the advice from some that have coilover.

Regards,

M4r1n

What a timely post.  A set of Fortune Auto 500's just showed up and are in my hands.  For the money, they can't be beat.  Buy them from here:

Yes please let us know about mounting and review of the coils.  I've never pulled the trigger on the Fortune Auto's yet, but want to.

I've been on b13 KYB AGX's for 3 years so they will work.  The rear sway bar bracket is different and I think there is a slight difference in strut length but very minor.

If you talk to Juan Ramirez from the sr20 boards (the group buy I posted)  He will get a custom set for the rnn14 made.  They come with adjustable rear links and mounts for the rear strut.

When I get these installed I make a post.

Fortune auto flat out told me the won't make a set for RNN14, even though they know damn well the B13 set will work with minor mods to the sway bar mount.

I said fuck it and went to Feal, which happily took my money.

I want to see these installed on a GTi-R. I want to prove that they fit and show the salesman I was speaking to.

You get them put on yet?

You don't even need to mod the swaybar mount on the fortunes....they literally bolt right on.

Ask Steven Huang on Facebook, I know he can custom build you some coilovers, or try Feal like Ryan said

Update!:

Got the Fortune 500's installed last week and ran my first Autox Event on Sunday.  I went with 7k 5k and the swift + radio beating upgrade.  What a difference.  I have had BC coilovers on this car in the past for DD and track/autox use.  Most recently I have been running KYB AGX's with factory spings.  Somehow these coilovers are more comfortable to drive on the street than the KYB's and also miles better than the BC's on course.

Somehow I installed these, set the heights, did an eyeball alignment, and set FTD at Autox a few days later.  I left everything on full soft and the car was so planted, easy to drive, and just point and gas pedal.  I can't say enough good things.  Safe to say I'm a fortune guy now.  For the money I don't think you could beat these.

Get the B13 Sentra ones aka "sentra 331".  They come with adjustable rear swaybar tabs and rear adjustable end links.  Worked perfectly on my r, with the whiteline adjustable rear bar.

If you want some here are a couple links to get in touch with Juan, super good guy will take care of you.

Yea, I didn't realize until I actually saw them that the rear sway bar mount is a threaded collar type. That's really awesome.  So, you think the radial bearing mount option is worth it? i want to do locking collars too.

SWIFT spring option is it good Lynx?!

Radial bearing is a must, switft is optional I would say.  The recular springs are good but switfts are the best.  Locking collars no big deal, just hammer them on there.

Excellent Lynx, and for a street use, maybe some time on the track, what spring load do you recommend?!

I have 7k front 5k rear.  I used a suspension calc and geusstimated my corner weights (I'm not at a high level of competition).  It feels good to me at autox so far. and not bad on the road.  If I was spending most of my time as a DD I might go 6 and 4 which is what is speccced for most gtir coilover kits.

I prefer locking collars, they're really good at keeping the dirt out, and most of them have 1/4" holes drilled in them all around the circumfrence, it makes it very convenient to stick a 1/4" punch in the hole to turn them for easy leverage, beats the hell out of using a cheapo shock spanner to turn them.
