I'd like to start a thread on importers. Who have you used, would you reccomend them to friends, etc. How was the overall transaction? the condition of the car, timelines for shipping, etc.
Post up your thoughts and opinions!
Thanks!

Well I didn't get my car from them, but I have dealt with Terra2 Imports (dot headlights) - While the price seemed a bit steep, the transaction went super fast with no problems.
I purchased my car from Adam at Feast Auto Export. Fantastic communication and he was very professional. I'd say almost 50% of the Skylines on GTRcanada were imported through him and no none has ever said anything negative. He doesn't sell auction cars either, only privately owned.
I am currently working with him to find a white GTi-R in Japan (he is located there). I used him for my Skyline, and the car showed up exactly the way he described it. He didn't try to hide anything about the car. I would defiantly recommend him, and you will save a lot of money importing from Japan.
TyeeImports.com is another really good place. They have all their cars legal and ready to go in BC, whereas Feast Export is located in Japan and can source you whatever you want, then ships it here in a container with 3 other cars.
www.japaneseusedcar.ca ..Yas was very good to deal with. Id give em my money again. A few hicups along the way. but all in all great experience.
I Will NEVER DEAL WITH Westcoast Hotrods Again. The owner Vance is a lying crook. he will rip you off on parts and the cars he does sell arent even checked out or made safe by him or his crew. they have yet to this day supply me with the original parts that were supposed to come with the car. he alsop decided to keep some of the parts that i saw on the car the first 10 times i looked at it. he makes excuses for how lobg it takes to get parts or anything done. Total fu**** Loser. I wouldnt Spit on his shop if it was burning down. He sells rebuilt cars that he buys from the insurance company and says there mint cars. Total Liar.
I believe that was a shout out to all douche bag importers.HAHAHAHA
Guaranteed to put a smile on the front of your head!
i got my civic SiR from tyee.. took a lot longer then was stated but was happy with the way things went. he said it had abs and 17's and it didnt have abs and it came with 16s. not a big deal. FRONLINEIMPORTS I HIGHLY recommend very nice guy, no wait had my car right away and was EXACTLY as listed. their prices are also considerably lower then other importers.
what about tiger japanese, they seem to have a couple pulsars really cheap http://www.jdmtigerjapanese.com/index.php?cPath=31&sort=6d&filter_id=22
^ I've heard negative things about them, if you are buying from them check the vehicle completely.
X2, If i did it again, I would use Adam again without a doubt
ive used adam to get parts for my GTR hes a godsend...
i ordered my parts from him a day after a friend of mine ordered some stuff from the USA, i got my parts about 2weeks later delivered to my door... my friends stuff didnt arrive for 2 months...
adam even offered to have faster shipping for an added cost... and i thought 2weeks from japan was already lightning fast...
when the time comes to get my GTiR its either gonna be one already landed or im gonna get one through adam

tiger jap have plenty of nice clean cars.... however they're all cheap fior a reason, they import cars from Japanese wreckers... so basically they dont have a tuitle as such... my buddy got a gsr engine, looked amazingly clean on the outside, when he ripped it apart it was completely rusted and seized on the inside..
ive heard of guys buying cars, test driving in the car lot and the engine blowing apart.
ive also watch how they store the parts, cars and wedged on their side into the container and dragged out with a tow truck.. thats why on the website you can see damaged and usually only one side of the car
BOTTLES ARE FOR BABIES.. REAL MEN GET BLOWN
I purchased a de from tigerjapanese - never again. I had to drill and retap 3 of my flywheel holes because someone decided to impact the bolts on and stripped the hole out
I've bought parts from tiger Japanese in the past , I would recommend checking things out from top to bottom. before you purchase or take a mechanic with you.
1993 GTIR, front skid plate, HKS turbo timer, Enkei Two piece 15X6.5" rims. All else is stock
Gotta add RightDrive.ca They bring in mint cars only, and I know some of the staff quite well, they know how to look after you!
I used J-spec to bring im my GTR. Really good bunch of guys there too!
I went from a 530WHP GTR to a 220HP GTi-R, but I'm still smiling....

Rightdrive.ca are very reputable, they also offer after sale service and are knowledgeable about the vehicles they sell...
tiger is either hit or miss, much like tyee...
for parts and such the 2 best suppliers are [email protected] auto export group or [email protected] adam has helped me a few times with parts for my GTR32 and darryl while not helping me has helped hundreds of people with zero problems so i have confidence in reccomending him as well...

Tokyo Kei Auto in Halifax is where i got my R. 62000k auction grade 4 full service records, super easy to deal with guy named gabe and tons of support.
Question for you guys. So do you talk to the importer in Canada and he finds the car you want , or do you have to find the car yourself in Japan and then get it over to Canada with the help of the importer? I'm thinking trying to pick up either a P10 AWD, P11 AWD, or B13 AWD.
Lets say I was interested in importing a n14 from France or Belgium. Anyone have any hookups?
Jeremy,answered my question. Go minibrutes!!
Don't trust mike from right drive he sold me a bucket at a high price. Promised a lot and didn't get it. The drl box they put in melted the fuse some how and melted the plug for the light. Bought the car in June and received it in august. Because apparently it takes that long to change a clutch. Also wouldn't let me test drive it. But I'm happy i have one. Great cars to have, most of the time.
