Some of you have seen my NX1600 with the GTi-R engine swap. This past weekend I placed second in SPX 3 class at the Knox Mountain Hill Climb. Had a lot of fun on a course that is more challenging than video portrays. The car that beat me was a 71 Camaro with a twin turbo built motor and a driver who has driven the hill multiple times. This was my first time at the event. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done, but the car is getting there.

nice! Looking good Frank.
Thanks, Lynx. I'm looking forward to getting a few more things sorted and then really having a working car!

get those back tires powered yet?
LOL! I just don't see that happening (... in the near future!) ... as the teething challenges with the engine swap alone have taken me years to sort out. Sometimes it seems like the saying 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards is very fitting.

I was there and did see you run! Well done hanging onto the Camaro....that thing had balls!!
I went from a 530WHP GTR to a 220HP GTi-R, but I'm still smiling....

Wingnut, Too bad we didn't connect.
After the event I found the cause of my spongy brake pedal - a leaking rear caliper. It was hard to hang with that Camaro when I was worried about not stopping for the corners. So now next year! I was 44th overall - but 19th fastest through the speed trap. 73 cars entered.
